Activity 1: Defining the terms
Before we begin this section, discuss the following questions in your group. They should start you thinking about legal systems. Don’t worry if you don’t know the answers. Hopefully by working through this section, you will learn more.
- Who makes the laws in this country?
- How are the laws made?
- Who is responsible for enforcing the law?
- What does the phrase ‘taking the law into your own hands’ mean?
- Can you talk about an example of someone taking the law into their own hands? Can you explain why you think they did this and your views on it.
