Debating ideas and viewpoints is at the heart of a democracy.
In a dictatorship there is no room for debate. People with views opposing the government are repressed and prevented from voicing their opinions.
In this section you will explore two topics. Each topic has two opposing arguments. Both topics were relevant in Nazi Germany and both are still relevant to us today.
Topic 1 : Freedom of Speech and Expression
Topic 2 : Euthanasia
As you work through the activities, try to decide on your own viewpoint whilst also trying to understand the opposing point of view.
