Challenging the Racists - 3
To suggest that people with diseases and disabilities are less valuable to society than others is unfair because it places the fault with the individual rather than with society. Someone who is born with cerebral palsy, for example, and is confined to a wheelchair may be able to lead a full life if the structures in society are adapted to their needs. A civilised and just society should include all people equally and give opportunities for everyone to lead happy and fulfilling lives.
